| Experienced The middleweights of this class, 500-1000cc, make them obvious intermediate touring bikes. Many of the manufacturers give advancing touring riders a variety of options in this category. And intermediate touring bikes provide slightly more “oomph” while still offering superior controllability. |
| Expert Advanced touring motorcycles, 1000cc plus, are big, heavy, and are usually nice and comfy. While their riders relax and enjoy a feeling of presence on the road, they sacrifice the ability to be agile and quick. But with thick cushy seats, satellite radio systems, and an abundance of storage space, this is rarely a concern for advanced touring bike riders. And while they have superior top-end cruising speed…they are definitely the tortoise off the line. |
